I will be using these colours below for the ancillary work. I got the color of the metalic grey from the jewellery, and the background railings of the stairs in box park. The grey represents the urban setting. The use of the color rosey red is from the artists lip color, the red love heart that occurs in our video when she is singing behind the gate. I got the colour black from the leather jacket, and the outside cages of the shops in the box park. The color white is from her top she is wearing in the box park, and the white light depicted in the music video.



FEEDBACK FROM THE MOCKUP

Louisa - told me to change my A4 portrait to A5 Landscape, because it will be more conventional of advertisements.
Rebbecca- told me that the A5 landscape portrait will be better as it separates the image from the text, whereas in the A4 portrait it will be harder to include text.
Louisa - said it was good, and I could include a teaser advertisement as well.
Rebbeca said it was FANTASTIC!!

I've been looking into Pixie Lott who is a similar artist to Katy B. Her Album 'Young Foolish Happy' uses a graphic design that it recognized across the ancillary products which is the symbol 'x'. In our disappear music video the graphic image that comes up constantly is the circle. This is why I decided that the graphic detailing should be focused on the use of the circle. I also wanted to take the detail of the X, and the urban graffiti and do a symbol of a painted/smudged X effect. I want this to be a recurring theme that not only links to the music video, but the branding image of the artist who is from an urban surrounding. 

In these shots the artist is in-front of the circle with a cut out X. I think that this detail
can be used for the CD cover itself.
Her Jewelry is in the shape of circles. The necklace including the hooped earnings.

Planning- Photoshoot For Digipak

During Friday's lesson we took more images for our digipak photographs. This was because we felt that our previous photoshoot wasn't strong enough to be used for an album cover, and we didn't take enough profile shots of Juliana looking into the camera. During this photoshoot I wanted to take images that were strictly studio portraiture, then add a different background that will be the theme of my whole digipak and on all the 4 panels. 



The above images are the ones that I will be using for the digipak and the advertisement. I feel that the images on the Left when she is wearing black and white, give her a more fresh and natural look. Whereas the images on the Right follow the urban image that was presented in the disappear music video. I think that the effect of the wind used in her hair relates to the ideas of disappearance, but as an image itself it creates an illusion for the audience it almost seems as if the use of wind is making her drift away. I feel that the image on the bottom right hand side will be best for the advertisement as it is dynamic and intriguing for audiences. They need to be captivated by an exciting image. The graphic link that our group decided to settle on was circles so we used this subliminal and subtle idea of Juliana wearing a top that included circles.

I felt that because she was a new artist we had to take profile shots of her full face so that
the public can identify her. The images I felt couldn't be used for the front of the album or the advertisement, but I felt that I could use some of the images I took when she is wearing the stripped crop top for the inside panels of the digipak or to produce something extra for the fans this is something I am still deciding upon.

I wanted to use the effect of digital manipulation in my ancillary work, and this is one of my ideas
I think that I need to do more research into the inside panels of digipaks from dubstep, electro pop genre artists to see if this is conventional.

Research- Advertisement Logos

Chipmunk London Boy Advertisement


Below is the grime artist Chipmunk's advertisement for his highly anticipated mixtape ' London Boy' which will be released on Christmas Day. He is having a launch party on Christmas Eve at the dollhouselondon club to promote his new release. He has used viral marketing strategies of twitter and facebook to create awareness for this project. He is an artist also from the urban area of London. This is similar to my artist from the same urban area. They are both young so the use of viral marketing strategies are used to target their young fan-base. Whilst looking into his advertisement colors I noticed that it uses the exact same colors
that I will be using for my ancillary product....




I like the fact that the advertisement is landscape featuring both the front and back panel track-list of the album.
The peeling logo effect ' Out On Dec 25th' is a good use of digital manipulation. Instead of writing
 NEW ALBUM OUT NOW I want to look into how to create this Logo.
I think that the use of half his face and half his body on the back panel is creative, and different it relates to his lyrics, and the type of artist he is. This won't be something that I will be doing for my artist, because she is new, and I want the audience to recog

This is his twitter page that has been customized including the background theme, banner and profile image of his new album coming out. This creates a link with the ancillary product to the social networking site. This allows fans to connect with the artist.


In the disappear music video the blackberry barcode is shown at the back in the box park base track. 
This is why I want to use the symbol at the back panel of the digipak, and also on the advertisement for fans to 'scan'. I want to use ' the twitter and Facebook logo for fans to tweet, follow and like the artist 'Juelz Allana's' pages. Advertisements use these logo's for fans to connect to the artist, and it allows fans to keep up to date with the artists new singles, videos and possible merchandise products that could be coming out.
