TAMARA AKOTUAH:PRODUCTION - Music video with good edits

I love the way Beyonce's music video uses obvious edits in order to create effect. As a targeted audience of her music I feel this engages me to the performance and music video as it makes me want to be a part of the performance. I love her use of movement and the idea behind having your audience dancing with your music video, this creates something for your audience to look forward to and be excited about in your music video.
We could use this idea to inspire our music video by having our artist constantly moving and dancing to engage the audience.

TAMARA AKOTUAH: PROMOTION - Signatures for my artist

I thought of signatures my artist could use and produced a range of samples with help from different ICT resources. Samples are below.
1) The Egyptian statement signature
the signature was mostly inspired by the makeup of my artist, of you look closely at close up shots of her in the music video she uses eyeliner to emphasise her eyes. I believe the fonts of this signature support this idea. I think this signature is really graphically and will draw the attention of both males and female audience.

2) Finalcutpro signature
This signature was in fact inspired by my editing of the music video, when I was marking and putting down base tracks there was a lot of lines. I manipulated this idea into a signature for my artist. I believe it also ties in with the genre my artist is all about.
3) A developed idea
This signature is an idea developed from the one above, however a lot more simple with some dynamic shapes.

4) Short and simple
This signature is really small, simple do emphasise that the artist is a girly girl, which would help engage a specific female target audience.

I will do a questionnaire on which signature is better and why, which I will update you on within  my next blog posts.

TAMARA AKOTUAH: RESEARCH - EMA Best music video awards

Just to update you from the blog post I did recently on the EMA Awards, Gangman Style won best  music video award! Above is a clip of highlights of the night including PSY receiving his award. I wanted to however do some deeper research into why he won this award, what is it about his music video which shone among the rest. Below is an interview in which I conducted on a teacher who would like to be kept anonymous.

Planning- Checklist of what should be done by this Friday's lesson

Seeing as the rough-cut deadline is next week Friday 23rd I thought that it would be a good idea to do a mini checklist of things that should be done by this friday 13th to ensure that my group is fully prepared and will be able to meet the rough-cut edit deadline.

TAMARA AKOTUAH: RESEARCH - New Music Video analysis

Rhiannas music video begins with extreme close ups of nails in diamonds. This suggests the good life and ties in with the artists song lyrics given the music video the representation of ambiguity.

The close up shot shows who is the artist and gives the audience artist recognition, which follows Goodwin's theory. The video also adds a unicorn which creates a disjunctured music video, as it does not tie in with the lyrics of the song.

This research can help inspire our music video by using a lot more clos up shots of our artist to ensure that the music video is clear of exactly who the artist is.

TAMARA AKOTUAH: Blog Progression

Using Wordle I created the image above the original content was sentences of my blog progression and Wordle mixed it all up and made words which is really interesting.
