During Friday's lesson we were shown a mock-up of a CD cover and advertisement that had problems with the style and layout. I reproduced this CD cover to put right some of these issues.
Above is the final product. The changes I made were:
- I used the same text throughout the digipak
- I made sure the name of the artist was written in bold
- I digitally manipulated his image to make it clearer, so that the audience can recognize him
- I used the same background theme for the front and the back
- I made sure I included a barcode, and added the distribution company, and label logo onto the CD.
- I made sure that I put a song list at the back of the album cover as well.
I used this tool bar in Photoshop to do a number of things.
The tool that I found hard to use was the 'polygonal lasso tool', which I used
to cut around Dan's photograph. When it comes to editing images I think the magic wand tool
will be a tool that I would use instead of that, because it is quicker and easier to select the
parts of the image you want.

Layering images is a technique I learnt on Friday's lesson.
If you don't create a new layer each time you start to add another feature onto
your work, and end up making a mistake then in order to change it
you would need to delete the whole layer, which will resulting in having to start everything from scratch.
