During our last Friday lesson before the half term break our group decided that we would spend the lesson taking pictures of our artist in the two costume changes. We wanted to use the images to set up her wix page, twitter account and also use this to create a digipak. I felt that as a photography student I could use this skill to enhance our groups final product. We were able to go to locations and take abstract shots then went through some of the pictures so I could show the girls how we could edit them using photoshop. I wanted the images to reflect the camera techniques I've been developing by using angles, incorporating fashion photography, street and documentary photography , also how to saturate color or remove mistakes on photoshop.
My main concept for the photoshoot was binary opposition. I wanted the location of the street to differ and stand out from the studio portraiture styled photos. This is to create a dynamic composition while reflecting the mood of the song, plus the two different sides to our artist. Which came from my inspiration from the Beyonce Sasha Fierce album. I wanted the images to reflect the idea of 'disappear' which is why I desaturated the images in photoshop.
Beyonce, Coco Rocha (model) and Rihanna have soft looks in these images above. That was my approach to the images that were shot in the studio. I wanted them to be elegant, relaxed and emotive.
The images above capture my street photography ideas that I used for inspiration when shooting Juliana.
This is a mini animation clip of model poses that I wanted to embody during the photoshoot
