Research and Planning- Ideas for digipak

I've come across the song ' Disappear' by Beyonce which is on her 3rd studio album ' Sasha Fierce '. This is the same song title that our music video is based on. On the 18th November 2008 the most anticipated album of the year , I AM... SASHA FIERCE was released. It contained 2 discs and each of the discs revealed a different side to her personality, character and sensibility. It is a binary opposite, ying-and-yang developed artistry. '' I AM displays intimacy through her heart felt ballads such as '' Broken hearted girl'' and '' Disappear''. While '' SASHA FIERCE'' bloldly gave a voice to her up tempo, dance other side with songs  like single ladies (put a ring on it) which is the most watched and most mimicked around the globe music video.

I like the use of close up's on her and I feel that the use of black and white
effect makes her look more gentle and reflects the sensibility and
heart felt songs in her album.

This song hasn't had a music video release.

By looking at Beyonce's digipak for her song disappear it has given me some ideas about possibly making the digipak that I create for my artist to ,also be in the neutral black and white to reflect the single
' Disappear' and the artist at ease escaping from the battles of life. I want the album to also correspond to the music video ,as the use of locations present a sense of entrapment that our artist wants to break free from and disappear.

Single Ladies Music Video

This music video that Beyonce has created reflects the up tempo and dance section of her alter ego Sasha Fierce. I like the use of black and white, but the costume she is wearing holds elements of the male gaze which Laura Mulvey argues about, but I feel that the fierceness of her actions provide evidence that she isn't submitting to this representation and is a powerful woman. The images below are from some promotions for the album showing her '' Sasha Fierce '' side. I like the idea that her album has used these two personality's maybe this is something that I might want to also incorporate into my own digipack, because it is something that our music video for '' Disappear'' By Katy B touches upon.

She uses darker intense make up. Her clothes are striking and have a certain structured shape to it. The metallic colors of the gold and silver could symbolize
power '' woman of steel''.
