I've been doing some research into independent artists so I decided to meet up with Kwame aged 18 who is a freelance music director and producer.
He works with independent artists and helps promote their music via social networking sites twitter, blackberry broadcasts, twitter and facebook pages.
He taught me about how he shoots his music videos and techniques to keep the camera steady. He feels that if he worked with artists part of a major label this would be a better advantage, because they will be able to buy the equipment needed. He uses two different canon camera's with 2 different lenses and shoots it at the same time then edits it to give it a professional type look. this does take time and a lot of effort.
This is a location where he films most of the independent artist he works with. It shows the urban surrounding and has a wonderful backdrop. |
This is one of the music video's he helped produce and make for the artist CreepaClinton which came out in the early hours of this morning. He used the location that I interviewed him at. I like the fact that the artist can relate to the setting he is being filmed in, this is what our group are trying to present through our own music video.
