The power of viral marketing
I've been doing research into YouTube and viral marketing strategies. When our group release our music video I think that we should do it through social networking sites and YouTube to gain recognition and create hype over our song. The more views we get the more our music is known about. Gangnam Style is a single by Southern Korean rapper. The song was released on the 15th July 2012. His lead single '' Gangnam Style '' debuted at number one on the Gaon Chart. This video has been viewed over 490 million times on YouTube and is the websites 4th most watched video.'' Gangnam Style '' dance has been performed at various places such as; Saturday night live, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Samsung Commercials.
The songs dance moves have been performed by several political and business leaders including Davis Cameron. It has been signified as a force for world peace. This dance has been the most recognized by the Guinness World Records as the most liked video in YouTube history on the 20th September 2012.
David Cameron And Boris Johnson Dancing To Gangnam Style
This music video uses a variety of locations, setting, props and clothing. This is to reflect the dance and how wide spread it has become over the world. The artist incorporated dance and movement to present energy and make the music video more exciting for fans to watch. I think this is a good example of amplification and disjuncture following Andrew Goodwin's theory, also why performance in a music video is vital.
